I never saw it coming. The prize was sitting there just waiting for my reaching hands and soaring spirit. All I had to do was name it and claim it.
Suddenly, it was snatched from my very hands!
“But, God. The cup is empty. The chocolate's gone!”
“But, God, I prayed believing:
‘Ask, and it will be given to you…’ (Matthew 7:7a, NASB)
‘Ask, and it will be given to you…’ (Matthew 7:7a, NASB)
I really wanted THAT!”
“Are you listening, God? Really listening? How COULD You …?”
“I…I… wh-what? I’m sorry, God. Were you t-trying to say s-something?
The chocolate was too h-hot? It would have b-burned my mouth?
Y-You were protecting me?"
"Oohhh..."
“Thanks, God.”
My son-in-law just happened to be in position to take some rapid shots of my grandson, Little B’s meltdown when his aunt rescued him from a cup of hot chocolate. (You’ll notice there were no tears, just drama. Smile) I wonder if I sometimes look like this over disappointments in my life before I realize, undoubtedly through hindsight, that God had my back the whole time.
“For I know the plans that I have for you,”
declares the Lord,
declares the Lord,
“plans for welfare and not for calamity to
give you future and a hope”
(Jeremiah 29:11, NASB.)

Thank you Julie and Karlene. I think we've all seen that heart reflection from time to time, and isn't is great to have others to encourage us through those times. I love how God uses JoE to bring us together, especially when we need that boost :)
